24 Points About 24: Hour 22

1. Is that Nic Cage from "The Rock" inside the chemical chamber?
2. "This device will allow us to talk to each other," says to Gibran along with some hogwash about terrorist attacks, but what Tony really wanted to tell him, was that he was going to talk to him about the NBA playoffs "Yo Gibran, it's Tony, what's good with those Rockets, Yao Ming injury, come on?"
3. This wig wearing assassin broad has got nothing from the wig wearing assassin broad goddess from 24 past: Mandy
4. Bauer is the only person who gets to used needles, this terrorist dude who wants that morphine, he isn't getting nothing.
5. "I'm only supposed to use it (the number) if there's a problem" I would say that Jack Bauer's finger in your trachea is a slight problem.
6. Janaene, I've honestly run out of mid 90's movies to reference to show that you are dated and my least favorite part of the show.
7. I'm surprised the terrorist's special cell phone number didn't call Tim at the white house, who's phone may I remind you is a superphone which is a Iphone, Blackberry, Nintendo DS, tamagotchi, and PSP combined.
8. I gotta say that the yell that erupted when the farm boy Red Skins's lightbacker dude told Gibran to put the earpiece back in was loud enough to startle the neighbors, who are louder than pre-teen Jonas Brothers fans.
9. Agent Pierce, didn't you learn anything from Martha Logan, you can't trust these Presidential family members, they are psycho. Every season, they are nuttier, than chunky peanut butter with almonds and a inkling of cashews.
10. The gay reporter had balls big enough to give it to Olivia straight. Boom, 24 is getting super progressive.
11. "The package is in place, and my wig is staying on, as for the glasses, they are messing up my eyesight, come on Tony, why did you make me where these."
12. My mom is quick to point out that someone with a nerve disease like Jack can drive extremely well and put people in choke holds like nobody's business.
13. Kim is all paranoid in the subway, she's never forgotten that cougar business
14. It's a UMP device, damn that CIP module must be jealous. And in the darkness lurks the RSR device, smiling evily.
15. Jack can thank the senate for giving him the insight to realize that if he's about to torture someone it proves wise to tell the government agents to leave.
16. I was a little disapointed that Jack didn't headbutt Tony. Art imitates life, or life imitates art, with Jack and Kiefer, I can't tell the difference anymore. I don't mind.
17. So everyone gets off the train, but no one gets on? What is this platform 9 and 3/4.
18. Jack gives a little smile to Olivia, and gets a hug, but Jack come on you got a season finale ahead of you, this aint ova, you aint got time for lovin.
19. The chick with the giant wig would definetly stand out amongst the crowd of ummm, cops, FBI guys, who specialize is spotting shady people.
20. Jack, poor move, picking the shadiest looking guy to tail your daughter. He also happens to be one of many terrible FBI agents who have zero skills when it comes to combat. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE AND HIS NAME IS LORD JACK BAUER<---Video is amazing!!! 21. Agent Pierce has his act together, on this show, it's literally him and Jack vs the rest of the world. Honestly, where's our spin-off. 22. I thought that Olivia was bidding on an ebay item not selling her soul away after killing J. Hodge. 23. Jack looks longinly at the muslims bros, and we learn Jack has a heart. Luckily, Jack now has a new villian, evil California brah man hippies from Glendale California.
24. So the season starts with Jack bustings out Tony and it looks like it ends with him having to break him out again. Is this a time loop? And if so, does this mean my main meng DUBAKU will rise from the grave and return once more!! Yes!!!

24 Points About 24: Hour 21

1. Can't tell if Tony is limping around or just walking with swagger it's weighing him down.
2. There always is the question: What would the bad guys do if the guy who the plan hinges on simply just said no.
3. Jack says he doesn't like "racial profiling," but just 3 seasons ago, he was snack-crackling-poppiling fingers of AMNESTY international lawyer like it was nothing.
4. I feel for Chloe, Jack is her only friend, besides, the probable millions of the friends she has in World of Warcraft, where she is a level 68 night elf.
5. Jack needs to get his ass healthy so he is in fighting shape for the finale. This time last week Jack was suiting up with a full arsenal to go take out his father and about 200 Chinese dudes.
6. The whole situation of "do what I say, and you are going to live through this" is a great flip on the traditional structure of 24. Usually it's Jack and Tony enlisting a civilian to do some wild task to save the day, now it's Tony and his Motley Crue using the same tactics for evil.
7. "Lecture on conscience," line coming from Olivia Taylor, this is a woman that "has relations" with reporters and now she's lecturing her pal Martin about ethics.
8. Is this Martin dude, a hitman, because if so, he is the first gay hitman on "24."
9. This dude in the brown suit with Jonas Hodges has got to be the one of two 52 year old U.S. Marshall ever.
10. "Tibbet, sounds like a dog breed," J. Hodges keep the hysterical lines coming.
11. How does Hodges get ready to leave for Andrews Air Force Base when all he has in his possessions is his integrity, his wallet, and his name, which he forged with blood and sweat, in case you forgot.
12. Mr. Go Har could very well be "Mr. Go Hard" which means he goes hard, 110% every day of the week. He doesn't sleep, he doesn't eat, he just goes hard in all of his endeavors.
13. Putting Jack in a mosque is like putting a 8 year old boy in Candy Shop, he just can't stand still.
14. This scene where Jack confronts the Inman is the peak of years of bad relations with muslims. I like the writers are start taking responsiblity for the show, I mean after all it does directly impact American policy.
15. Why does the Arab American's son look like from he is from Uncle Jedidiah Smith's cow farm in Idaho?
16. You'd think the Farm Boy arab brother would put the pieces together that maybe his brother's shady white friends dressed in all black have something to do with his sudden change toward extremism.
17. Olivia Taylor makes the smart choice and doesn't choose to push the green button, but of course, like JoJo its too little too late
18. Jack has gone from Muslim hater to a man with understanding of Islam. What's next Season eight, Jack Bauer converts, and films a buddy comedy season with zombie Marwan and Behrooooooooz.
19. Remember when the first husband was choke slamming underage secret service agents off balconies and into tables, damn seems like ages ago.
20. Jonas Hodges just got up and walked into the car, what was the point of the wheelchair?
21. I was going to say what's with the emotional Big Fish type music and Hodges holding the photo and finally something blows, at the 48 minute mark, coudln't have come soon enough.
22. "Tim and the Magic Cell Phone." This sounds like a great children's book about a young man in the white house who finds a magic cell phone that transforms his life and shows him and the people around him the value of communication.
23. Agent Walker is running around telling any random dude in LA that Jack is infected, have a little respect for the man, otherwise he might shoot you in the neck again.
24. Weak...episode.

24 Points About 24: Hour 20 (X-Men Edition)

1. If there was any doubt (you know just a tiny bit) that Tony was good, it was erased in the first 30 seconds when he iced those FBI agents like a baker.
2. We all know the real reason Tony went to that hotel room, he had to pick-up those Wolverine tickets for that midnight showing of "Wolverine." In fact, Tony was an X-man, he'd probably be a cooler version of Cyclops.
3. And how fitting that Tony's girl is a redhead, aka Phoenix.
4. You think cause you can get your GTA on in a civilian ambulance, you can take out Tony Almeada, just ask Moss, nobody messes with Tony, he clearly has reflexes from.....beyond.....the.....grave.
5. Tim, aka, the meanest, baddest motha "shut yo mouth" in the Whitehouse once again has got all the answers.
6. "How do I know he's going to talk?" I'm going to attach some electrodes to his nether regions, get my Tchaikovsky on, and start cracking some nuts.
7. Agent Pierce looks to be totally healed from his gunshot wounds.....very.....interesting.....perhaps he is Logan himself.
8. "We don't torture people in this administration," translation, we don't torture people in season 7.
9. Jonas Hodges will be on a hundred acre ranch in Colorado, listening to Phish and wearing Birkenstocks.
10.Why does the communications display of the people setting up this Al Jazerian guy, have a whole bunch of tomatoes, in a circle? What are they evil terrorist farmers?
11. A pal pointed out that Tony definetly took a shower with that dead dude sitting there.
12. Jeanane, every second you exist of 24 erases precious memories of old school 24 characters, and that bothers me.
13. This whole thing about Jonas Hodges talking to himself and the camera and begging for fire-arms is creepy.
14. For a second when Jack was talking to Jonas Hodges in the hospital bed, he reminded me of Dr. House and then Jack said something about the truth, I thought he was going to say something "Lie to Me."
15. There is a electrifying current running through the scene where Bauer interogates Jonas Hodges. Great to see Voight and Kiefer stepping up their actions.
16. Things are getting real on "24" when you see another main character (Chloe) sleeping. I can't handle this sleep garbage. If I wanted to see character's sleeping I would have watched "Chuck."
17. For all you 24 fans out there, I can't take Morris O'Brien seriously ever since I saw him take that power drill to the back last year.
18. Jack can't string this whole shooting up in back rooms along forever. Last time this happened, Jack ended up having a noche loco in Mexico holmes.
19. Chloe's hug count during the episode is three, Jack's kill count is zero. Get your act together writers, I want thugs getting poppped, not hugs from Chloe that can't be stopped.
20. This whole set-up of the innoncent Arabian once again proves chilling. They whole talk of fitting the psych profile, and how perfect he is is very "Arlington Road" esque. And if you don't get that reference, you're lost.
21. Pal points out besides debating torture ethics, another theme running through season is that of powerful redheaded women who stick by their men. Agent Walker loved Moss so dearly and has got a thing for Jack. And Tony's redheaded chick apparently likes evil dudes.
22. Glad to see that 24 may be conservative in it's torture ethics, but luckily 24 shows us gay reporters. How progressive.
23. We've waited the whole season to see Janeane hippie Garafallaololo get a stern talking to, and I'd say it delivered.
24. Two weeks in a row 24 ends with Tony threatening someone with death. Damn, he's really evil now.

24 Points About 24: Hour 19

FRIENDS NO MORE
1. Why is "24" opening up with a random character, who we have never seen before, in some far off location. What is this, "Lost?"
2. The brief scene where the lady was killed and her identity quickly assumed chilling, not just because it was well shot but because it feels so real.
3. Thrilling to see Tony barking out orders like the demon hound of hell. It's about time that Tony starts taking a major leadership role, albeit an evil one.
4. Kim Bauer is looking like she's been eating cheese-cake for 24 hours.
5. She actually looks like she has a mini buttocks on her chin (it's hiding).
6. The super nerd dweeb dork in me has to point out that the last Asian government agent featured on 24 was none other than Daniel Day Kim, who went to great (and continuing) glory on "Lost"
7. Smart of the writers to have Jack's mental condition degrade rather than his physical condition. The loss of Jack's mind is much more frightening then his physical condition failing him.
8. I mean let's be honest, Bauer's skin is bulletproof, his killing skills are unmatched, and his marksmanship is comparable to William Tell.
9. JONAS HODGES IS THE FIRST MAIN CHARACTER EVER TO BE SEEN SLEEPING IN 24 HISTORY.
10. If Jack's signature move is yelling "Dammit," then Hodges signature move is the nostral flare.
11. "In some countries, they would have shot him by now." Glad to know our writers remind us that even though our country is full of corrupt businesses like Starkwood, they still aren't as bad as "some countries."
12. Will Patton (the guy the blond lawyer calls) is a great actor, almost so great, that I'm surprised his arrival on 24 wasn't more publicised.
13. This scene where Jack is slowly interrogating Tony about the shell casings is vintage and old school 24, tense, well written, and exciting.
14. Touching that Kim named her daughter after her deceased mother Teri. And if you don't know, Teri was iced like a cake by the queen bitch herself, Nina.
15. To see Jack shooting up like that takes me back to Jack's Kurt Cobain days of season 3 when he was all strung out on heroin.
16. I don't think there has ever been a succesful prisoner transport in 24 history.
17. I'm kind of rooting for Tony, kind of, is the essential word there. Maybe it's his fly Indie Rock zip up hoodie.
18. I hate it when I know that Agent Walker isn't going to die because I read about her being a big part of season 8.
19. It's good to see that Jack's mental erosion does not stop him from recognizing crucial combat situations like nefarious villians lurking on the on the edges of the perimeter.
20. Two weeks. Two Huge Explosions. God I love this show.
21. Glad to see that the Tony's evil brother in arms pulls the old Marwan trick by putting on the the FBI jacket to get out.
22. Agent Walker is only mildly burned after that huge explosion? Perhaps just spending some time in proximity to Jack makes your skin tougher and more badass.
23. The confrontation between Jack and Tony by the ambulance is one of the best scences in 24 history! Once again! TONY!!!! TONY!
24. Jack with the crazy eyes, EVIL TONY! Blonds becoming red-heads! Neck stabings, wild wild wild 24. I love this show!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhh!

March 30, 2009

24 Points About 24: Hour 16

1. Jack probably has no problem undressing for a gorgeous doctor. What is this, Grey's Anatomy?
2. The reference to the scars is a cute nod to the Season 2 soldering iron torture sequence. If you don't know, in Season 2 Jack was tortured with soldering iron and electricity and then actually "died." Luckily he came alive five minutes later and killed everyone who tortured him with the same devices that killed him.
3. I just want to point out that the terrorists are cruising around D.C. in a flatbed truck with a WMD on the back, and also with a bunch of dudes with guns dressed in black.
4. Great sequence with Tony and Hodges, Carlos Bernard, holds his own against Jon Voight, who's a pretty good actor. If you don't know this you obviously haven't seen "Deliverance"
5. Once again Hodges manages to compare someone to children. In this one case it's Greg, "come on young man."
6. Tim, aka, the coolest dude in the White House, is once again the most knowledgeable bro in the building and the main meng in the House with a cell phone that can call anyone, anywhere. Better than Obama's blackberry? Hell yeah.
7. I'm going to get all Bob Thompson on everybody and say that Agent Moss starts appearing with a bulletproof vest once he turns to Jack's side (a.k.a. the good side). The bulletproof vest symbolizes this trust and his new power.
8. I love Agent Walker, but her acting when she found about Jack was exposed was weak. She looked like she just lost on a date to the prom. "What, you're telling me, Jack's going to the Prom, with....Janeane?"
9. READ THOSE INFORMATION PACKETS!!!! If you can't read listen to my boy Tim, with da magic cell phone, he has a sweet google maps presentation for you. He even has street view.
10. This African American on the White House staff with a deep booming voice and giant ears is a nice nod to Obama, and when I say, nod, I mean violent head nodding.
11. For the first time on 24 just got killed over Redskins tickets. That's Washington for you.
12. "How you doing" asks the Doctor to Jack. "Well I'm doing great and really hoping that this pathogen doesn't kill me, in fact I'm hoping it makes me superhuman so I can go kill all those weakling "Heroes" on NBC."
13. Jack is infected, oh man, one step closer to the rumored zombie season featuring the long awaited dream team of Jack Bauer, Curtis Manning, Ryan Chapelle, George Mason, Edgar Stiles, Michelle Dessler, and wait for it Milo Pressman
14. Greg, we all know you're doing the "right thing," as Tony says, but come on, your're doomed to die before this day is done.
15. That footage recovered from Sangala was some of the most disturbing footage ever on "24"
16. The President's speech against Starkwood continues the theme of comparing the fictional organization to the all to real Blackwater. The part about giving them military contracts, letting them do on missions, it's all real.
17. What is "Webx" and A) Is it related to Spiderman and B) How much is Cisco paying to make sure that we know "Webx" belongs to them.
18. I think the "I earned this" is interesting. It dives deep into Jack's motivations, he feels that he earns combat time." You also get a feeling of the importance of saving people in Jack's life.
19. Great shot at the 48 minute mark of Jack walking alone in the FBI.
20. The Starkwood chemical weapon holding trailer looks a lot like the canister yard that that the canister came from in the first place
21. Why aren't they coming in stealth mode to Starkwood? They're annoucing they're coming in, what is that about. Haven't they played Splinter Cell?
22. All these helicopters flying around has got to cost FOX a pretty penny. Whatever, they practically print money with American Idol, glad they're spending it on Helicopters on 24, instead of more judges on Idol. What a minute, I just revealed I know more about Idol than I should have.
23. Seaton's con on Tony was impressive. He even conned me, see post #11 and post #14.
24. For an episode with no body count, this was one of the best episodes of the season. In the past an episode like this was usually a filler, but with this season they have taken the writing to a whole new level.

February 23, 2009

24 Points About 24: Hour 10

1. President's daughter looks like a low rent Reese Witherspoon. Really not that a big deal, I mean I'd rather look like a low rent movie star, then a low rent taxi driver.
2. "She's not an asset, Jack, she's a human being." Tell that to all the innocent people that got iced in the line of duty during the course of Jack's storied career. Where to begin, Audrey Raine's husband...
3. Dubaku needs a spin off, seriously, this guy is the man! Consider: he busted up the FBI's bug, convince his girlfriend he wasn't evil, and still get a juicy kiss, and suffers the fate of too many a man today, a jealous girl.
4. Car flip, pretty serious, yup, let's talk about it, I mean, what you say, car just got flipped, you don't see that on American Idol.
5. You know someone's dead when the violins start playing, violins are for weddings or death.
6. That's gotta be terrifying, wake up from a car crash to a blond hair American avenger saying he's going to kill your family.
7. And then he rips up your chest looking for some USB device you hid in your stomach.
8. What a sneaky bastard that Sean is, not only is he taking down the FBI server, but he sneaks into the Womens bathroom.
9. As my friend pointed out, PRINT that PX thumbdrive data, print Chloe.
10. I like how the blonde girl who we thought was just Sean's flame at the beginning, was just his ruse to get away. Great writing and setup.
11. Sean is evil. The blood spit on the face makes you realize that (in case you didn't know). By the way, the camera angles when he was pacing down the hall were crazy.
12. I've never seen this treatment of a mole of 24. It's a great way to establish tension, introduce the mole, catch him, let us think he's going to get away, then catch him again.
13. I was hoping that Sean was going to go kill Janeane Garafalo before he tried to make a run for it.
14. Great writing in the hospital scene, Jack Bauer never answered the question about if he feels anything, and true to his character he doesn't have to.
15. You think anyone pulls a gun on Bauer, FBI Agent Walker or not, and he forgets? He remembers the first person he pulled a water gun on him in pre-school.
16. "Bill's a good guy," so sayeth one of my friends
17. The sunset over the capital, way better than a sunset over Los Angeles.
18. Jack and Tony on the steps of the Capital, great imagery, in fact I kind of want a painting of it. Of course in that painting I'd want to see Captian America, Wolverine, Robert Frost, JFK, Obama, Tom Brady, and David Ortiz.
19. We're almost half way through and still no new bad guy has been revealed, let it be known that I consider General Juma not a new bad guy because he was in Redemption and he's been referred to all season.
20. Episode earned high marks because no or little Janeane Garafalo
21. The ethics debate of the show continues to be interesting. I won't be surprised if Agent Moss has to do use some shady torture techniques to get some information from Sean, a.k.a. Billy Walsh.
22. I wonder if Agent Walker is going to stick around for the whole season, they seem to be setting her up for something, she's either going to take the plunge down the Bauer road and become a American warrior with dark soul, or get capped because I don't see her being on the show next year.
23. I will be upset if the President's daughter goes rogue disobeying her mother, I mean look what happened to her Father.
24. I was disapointed, in fact, I'm crestfallen that Bauer did not engage in a brutal mano y mano fight with Dubaku. There is a long history of Jack facing off against villians, so now fight surprised me. It's OK, it's coming, trust me.
24.5. Preview of next week looks like it's action packed.

February 9, 2009

24 Points About 24: Hour 8

1. How comforting to know that evil African terrorists with nice apartments, work with Korean shop owners. Talk about an axis of evil.
2. "Bauer!" said the President as she turns around. Does this President not know that Bauer is a trained killing machine. Judging by the music cue, I'd say she DOES know what he's capable of.
3. Jack Bauer is a patriot, but he belongs in the field icing terrorists, not in the oval office holding conferences.
4. Why is that President's aide on the speed dial list of Dubaku? Is he on that cell plan that allows you to have friends, it's him, Dubaku, Dwanye Wade, and Charles Barkley.
5. For a show that features power drills to backs, soldering irons to chests, and other various forms of torture, a little finger cutting is nothing. President's Husband needs to grow up a little.
6. "Ask Around," said Jack Bauer. Coolest line in the series maybe?
7. Lots of whispering in that oval office scene, that's how you stakes are high.
8. Agent Moss has gotta think Jack Bauer is the biggest cock block in the world. But honestly, he's a pencil pushing FBI softie, Jack is a battle trained American hero. Who you think she's going for.
9. Every second that Janeane Garafolo is in the show is a second I wish I was watching Heroes, and Heroes sucks, so that should tell you something.
10. They only meet in places that have prominent D.C. landmarks, so you know that THIS SEASON IS NOT IN L.A.
11. "Are you gonna give me your key's or not, oh and by the way, Renee is totally digging my swagger."
12. Agent Walker whipping out that piece, threatening families, that's vintage Bauer. She must have been watching those 24 box set DVDs.
13. Looks like that baby in the secret service guy's house should lay off the cheetos. That's one fat ass baby.
14. If anything, the car car crashes in this season have been amazing.
15. Finally, a classic Bauer kill. How will Bauercount count classify it? Spinning knife flip of death?
16. Was that Mutombo impostor/double Tim Meadows from 1990's Saturday Night Live?
17. "There are no tomorrows in 24," a great observation from a fellow 24 viewer. Translation, Renee Walker probably aint living through the season if she's about to retire.
18. Why does the terrorist leader have the best romantic plot on the show?
19. Excellent excellent edit from when the RPG was fired at the car to the explosion on the screen.
20. Those terrorists went down so easy cause they were wasted after all that beer that had stashed down there. Lay off the Tsing Tao there and maybe you'll be a better shot.
21. Agent Walker was caught descending a ladder, that's gotta be one of the most rookie FBI moves ever.
22. Definitely did not see the "First Idiot Spouse" getting blasted in the chest in the raid on the hide out. Great to see 24 still surprising us.
23. Very solid episode, a friend told me he thought this episode was weak. I think once, again, this season is maintaining a very high level of quality. This episode had action, knife fights, drama, great lines.
24. Once again, I gotta say, the car based action in this season has been excellent. It's something that has been missing from other seasons of 24 and really sets this season apart.

February 2, 2009

24 Points About 24: Hour 7

1. "We're giving everything we can," say's the FBI, but people are still chilling at their desks talking nerd politics. They're probably posting on "Heroes" message boards.
2. Flashing green and red lights, damn, those evil Africans, are really going for that Christmas theme.
3. Agent Renee Walker must have the hots for Bauer, cause she's switching sides real quick. One minute your getting shot in the throat, the other your working your sex appeal for Jack.
4. How come Jack runs point on the raid on the African's hide out, he only uses a pistol. From an eighth grade sniper rifle to a little pistol. What's the deal?
5. Where the hell is Jack Sack? Too emo for Bauer?
6. John Bruner looked so perxplexed not because the plant was going to blow up, but because he had to take orders from Janeane Garafolo.
7. Why Kitrin Ohio?
8. Since when does Bauer climb in air vents and peak around with fiber-optic cams. The guy is a one man army. That's like having your designated hitter be your pitcher, you gotta use your assetts.
9. How does John Bruner, not know his own plant? Why does he need instruction?
10. There are way too many terrorists hiding out in the "Christmas Room?"
11. If Bauer, Buchanan, Tony, and Renee are rolling with this type of hardware, where are they purchasing their weapons? I mean those guns are huge, that's like Time Crisis hardware.
12. Tony goes low, Buchanan goes high, that's classic.
13. I gotta hand it to Dubaku, he wears a suit, has an terrorist hub in an office building, and then strolls out. Pretty clever.
14. That's a sexy ass Renee Walker ID photo.
15. Destroying the CIP module is a bold move on the bad guys part. I mean what are you going to do next?
16. The amount of people who get saved by cell phones in 24 this season is steadily climbing at two.
17. I don't like commmenting on commercials but I gotta say, by the time you read this, I will already be at or be preparing for a (second) trip to Denny's
18. The whole dynamic of having the shadow CTU being rogue yet also be fighting for good, is very interesting and clever twist on the formula.
19. I have a hunch that Tony at some point in this season, Tony is going to be revealed as still bad. He will either have been evil all along or will become psycholically unstable and Jack will have no choice but to ice him.
20. I'm begining to think that the mole in the white house is not the Chief of Staff, Shawshank Warden, but the assistant chief of staff, Band of Brothers guy. Maybe I'm reading into the fact that he keeps getting phone calls from important people.
21. The season continues to excell at individual character drama as opposed to huge crises. The scene where Tony remained behind was well written and also expertly directed. I loved the camera angles and how they showed the space between Tony and the rest of the team.
22.That programer dude definetly did not need to blow up, that's just the writers thinking, wait, what, that guy from the first episode is still around, well might has well blow him up.
23. For a total evil African warworld megalomaniac, Dubaku has a pretty simple fresh pad. Looked like my spot in college, minus the Jack Bauer portrait of course.
24. "Take him to the Korean General Store, get me some treats." I mean that's the last line that I heard.

January 26, 2009

24 Points About 24: Hour 6

1. It's a good thing Buchanan knows how to do CPR when the rest of a body is covered in dirt.
2. These have to be the first terrorists ever to cruise around in yellow ice cream truck
3. Not only was the terrorist dude that Tony smoked a evil mastermind, he was a brilliant psychological mastermind capable of helping Tony cope with the loss of his wife.
4. Adam Levine RIP, you had a good run of supermodels, brilliant appearances on rap singles, and mad love from supermodels.
5. Renee the FBI agent get's blasted in the neck and gets a band aid, of course this is 24, and it has happened before (season 3, Tony got blasted in the neck, and shrugged it off like the mack that he is).
6. "If you're looking for forgiveness, go to hell," damn that's an intense line.
7. Big ups to Mutobo's wife for being a strong female character. Between her, The President and Agent Renee Walker, they're building a coalition that would make feminist scholars proud.
8. Why is Dubaku calling up some aide's cell phone. "The time for demands is over, and I got your number off facebook, step your privacy game up"
9. I would have thought that the mid air plane collision would have been more dramatic.
10. Talk about a reunion, "sorry we had to keep you in the dark," yeah, it's pretty damn dark when you're buried alive that's fo sho.
11. Tracking chips that you can implant on your teeth, damn now I know why I had braces for 5 years, those braces were a tracking chip.
12. The death of the black haired girl was one of the most violent deaths, no I take that back, that was the most violent death of 24 ever. It was very real, not cartoonish at all, compared to that vampire bite last season.
13. Bringing The Heat: verb, when Jack Bauer uses a sniper rifle the size of a 8th grader to ice fools.
14. This episode was completely lacking annoying Janeane Garafalo (name is impossible to spell by the way) and it was all the better because of it.
15. How you going to dangle those motorcycles in front of our eyes and then not let Jack use them?
16. By far the best episode of the season, if not one of the best ever. It had great drama, tension, and some classic, I'm going to blast you in the throat moments.
17. Jack looked at Mutumbo's wife and was like "yeah they're going to torture you, and trust me I'm like a professor at torture, and I'm still here."
18. Extremely well written speech by the President to the join chiefs of staff about why she is continuing to pursue the action in Sangala. Cherry Jones is a brilliant actress.
19. Bad guys like the color green, you take one look at their evil server complex and you realize that these guys are still looking at simple green screen graphics. Come on terrorists, step your graphic display game up. What type of system are you guys working with, looks like they're working on Apple II's
20. The President asking for resignation is the equivalent of Jack Bauer torturing people, it's used way to often.
21. Now this one is a little silly, and complaining about time structure on 24 is slippery slope, but think about this. The first time we saw the first idiot (I mean husband) was about 44 minutes into the episode. Since we saw golden boy pyscho secret service agent was walking around with that at the end of last week, that means he had the blade equipped for 44 minutes doing nothing.
22. Did those planes really crash or was it a cover up by Mr. Widmore, who's secretly searching for the Island's location? Sorry I couldn't resist.
23. Why did the terrorists pick that small town to destroy? I mean what are the odds. Actually the odds are 1/25,375. Check it out here.
24. The showdown between Jack and the head badguy is going to be epic. Will it involve a battle with wrenches and hanging and a one liner, that I'm not sure about.

24 Points about 24 Hour 5

1. "I need to make this right" is the new catchphrase for 24.
2. A phone call from the F.B.I. literally saves the aide's day, how convenient that he had that nice caller ID. He probably also has caller ID for the CIA, NSA, and the JLA.
3. Gotta be the first scene where two spies were in a kitchen and one of em said "grab those bowls."
4. Why didn't Adam Levine from Maroon 5 get a guest star credit as part of the terrorist team.
5. For a president who is in the midst of a national crisis, President Taylor spends a lot of time writing in books in her office.
6. There are some serious love triangles going down in that FBI office. Renee's boss difference wants her, the nerdy/evil analyst is "programing" on the hot blonde aide, and who knows how Janeane Garofalo fits into the mix.
7. The secret service agent guy has a super nice pad for a secret service agent's pay.
8. This show makes me so paranoid about government agents, if anybody even shows up to me and asks to put me in "protective custody", I'd be like hell nah.
9. The annoying liberal buercrat who hampers the tortous operation of government agency in the middle of a crisis is a classic 24 character.
10. I'm surprised that the show has not done getting buried alive before. Either way that was one of the darkest episodes I have ever seen.
11. True 24 fanboys (is that me?) are probably going nuts over the use of the silent countdown this early in the season and for a new character.
12. The whole show is feeling much more focused on drama and storytelling than huge action set-pieces. Truthfully I'm enjoying the show as a gripping suspense ride, but kind of longing for some epic action set pieces.
13. The person who identified Agent Walker getting kidnapped could not identify the van?
14. If Jack can cook up death gas in a kitchen, think of what he is capable of cooking up in peace time.
15. The President's husband has got to be one of the biggest rookies on the show. Shady apartment, brooding security guard taking you there, come on see the signs.
16. That being said, I like how fast the plotline with the President's dead son is moving.
17. Nerve paralyzers will get you each time, always gotta watch out for them
18. That whole scene in the apartment was very Hitchcock, lots of strange angles, and jarring edits. The whole imagery of the guy with the gloves on, the knife, all very terrifying.
19. CIP module is the new buzzword, whenever there is traffic on the highway, it's cause those damn terrorists are hacking the grid with the CIP module.
20. How Bauer managed to shoot the FBI agent and not kill her is a testament to his skills as both as expert marksman and a as masterful anatomy student.
21. Tony doesn't talk that much, he mainly looks at Jack with this look like "damn, you're still one crazy ass mofo"
22. That aide outside the panic room who was "ready to die for Sangala" is Yemi from Lost, just thought you should know.
23. How many Executive producers does 24 have, count next time, you'll be surprised.
24. A great character episode that kept the season rolling.

24 Points on 24

1. It is bizarre seeing Jack in any city besides LA. It's like Superman outside of Metropolis, or Batman outside of Gotham.
2. The coat that Jack is wearing above makes him look like Inspector Gadget, but not the kind Go Go Gadget, but the badass, I'm going jab this pen in your ear Gadget.
3. Speaking of pen in ear, in case you were wondering, that actor was in "Gladiator" and the action classic "Face/Off"
4. Jack's little gymnastics vault from ship to crate to Tony's body was a nice ode to the Olympics, perhaps it was the 24 writers snubbing Chinese gymnastics
5. Chloe vs Janeane Garofalo nerd battle was cool for about 35 seconds, then it became: wait a second this is a nerd battle, where is Jack?
6. No matter what the Government building, there are always dimly lit rooms with servers that can be tampered with.
7. The writing on this show has drastically improved. The scene in the basement where Jack iced those rookie henchman to convince the big boss man that he is "evil" was tense and well scripted.
8. Bauer Count has only one recorded kill for Jack, guess that means Jack is the maiming business now. I'm not worried, it's all coming.
9. In the opening of the series, the filming technique where the camera is inside a car when it gets rammed is getting a little old. But having it ram it again, that was fresh.
10. Where's Tony's soulpatch? If you don't know way back in the day, when Tony was Jack's best buddy, he had this dope "soul patch" on his chin.
11. That was the easiest explanation for coming back from the dead I've ever heard. Yeah, I was dead but then they swooped in and injected me and I'm back.
12. What ever happened to Karen Hayes, Bill Buchanan's wife?
13. Speaking of Bill, dude is looking straight badass, in fact he's looking more badass than Jack, I'm not sure if that's a good thing?
14. Who is babysitting Chloe's baby? It's Kim Bauer
15. How many times are they going to show us The Capitol building to remind us that the season now takes place in DC, not LA.
16. I like how the story is acknowledging the torture element is a problem, ie, we can't cross that line. And then they cross it anyway.
17. The mole inside the FBI is the hot FBI agent, I just have a hunch.
18. If she is not the mole she is going to be iced pretty soon.
19. Are Buchanan and Chloe working out of a Castle?
20. The male nerd in the FBI who Janeane is always hating on is the director from Entourage, if you were wondering
21. Can't wait for the showdown between Jack and that evil African maniac that burned his face in Redemption
22. Why, must the President's spouse in 24 always have a Dirty Harry complex?
23. When Jack is undercover with the terrorists and he's blasting his gun at everybody, is he shooting to kill? If so does this mean Bauer has gone rogue?
24. How good is it to have this show back? Makes me forget all about "Heroes."

Home Alone Is a prequel to 24

=

Kevin McCallister, a.k.a. the angel faced child from the "Home Alone" movies (that's 1 & 2, not the lame sequels) is a master of improvised weapons, so therefore he must be a young Jack Bauer. If there is any doubt, check out McCallister's list of skills, keep in my mind, this is before his dossier even had him in double digits.

1. Master of Media Manipulation- Uses TV to trick the pizza man into giving him free pizza. A true genius.
2. Small Arms- Combat technique includes BB gun to shoot Marv in the head with painful (not deadly) accuracy.
3. Mastery of Nature- Uses punk brother's tarantula to inflict psychological and physical pain on. enemies.
4. Enlisting Civilians- Recruits creepy snow shovel man and even more bizarre bird woman to provide fire support.
5. Munitions Expert- See toilet full of gasoline example from the New York File (aka Home Alone 2)
6. Spiritual Combat- Like all true warriors, he prays before combat, then he eats dinner.
7. Master of Improvised Booby Traps- Cannot be understated. Uses nails, Christmas ornaments, hot wheel cars, giant lead pipes, paint cans, staple guns, tool chests, even bricks to thwart enemy movements.

So when Bauer returns on January 11th (so damn pumped for that), now you know where he got his movies.
