50 Cent Loves America And Hates Terrorists

"50 Cent Blood on The Sand" came out yesterday, and if "Watchmen" wasn't coming out next week I'd say this has the potential to be the highlight of March. Here you have a game so stupid, so violent, so obscene, that one cannot be interested by it. As on reviewer said, it's like playing your own "very bad B-Movie." From the brief gameplay footage seen above, it's easy to tell that 50 Cent and his G-Unit boys move throughout the Middle East killing members of the terrorist Horde.

I find this approach to the Middle East conflict to be disturbingly refreshing. Every piece of Media to come out of the war on terror, whether it's "Body of Lies", "24", or "Call of Duty" has been very grim and serious. This approach is different, it's the cartoony fantasy, let's lampoon this war, so we can try to understand it approach. Yet I have a suspicion Fiddy was not thinking of it like that.

We're used to our mythic creations fighting the bad guys in war time, think WWII with Captain America fighting evil Nazis. Is it any surprise that the American gangster character, whether he has a top hat and a Tommy gun or a doo rag and blunt is still so popular. I like seeing 50 Cent kill the terrorists, for a second it makes me forget the real world, the real danger in it, and the real terrorists.

Friday Movie Wrap Up: The Express

The Express- This is a film about legendary Syracuse running back Ernie Davis. It's a true story and I'm personally guaranteeing that it will deliver the goods. Of course, the goods vary on what you seek. But if you want an amazing story that happens to be true, this is the one.







Body of Lies- Judging by the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio has moody sunglasses and looks like he just stepped off the set of "The Departed", you know he's going to be a badass in this flick. Basic story has Russell Crowe playing supervisor to Leo terrorist hunter who may or may not be based off of Jack Bauer, Jason Bourne, or even the grand terrorist hunter himself: our current president.








City of Ember- This is a film about a future world underground that's power supply is dwindling. Two teens have to find a way to start up the city's generators. Of course this whole movie is a giant metaphor for the failing economy and the two teens are metaphors for the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana.











Quarantine- This is a film that claims it is the recovered footage of a news team who was stuck in a quarantined building that contains flesh eating zombies. I swear, these news crews, also getting themselves stuck in bad situations and then sticking around to record it all. At some point you gotta turn the tape off and stop thinking about the Emmy and start thinking about getting out alive.

Weekly Verdict On What You Should See: The Express
