Super Hero Fix: Superman, Green Lantern, Dark Knight Rises

Alright comic book movie fans, buckle up I'm about to hit you with so much information you're gonna think I'm a villain. In a span of four days there has been quantum super-nova of information both from Marvel and DC so let's throw on the costumes and kick ass.

The Dark Knight Rises: People are so excited for this film that Nolan has instituted a Bruce Wayne level security system. To read the script, each person needs to be greeted and brought through multiple locked doors, then into the Batcave, I mean, production office. Speaking of the script, it has been printed with no ending, only God, I mean Nolan knows the ending (source).

The Dark Knight Rises After He Has Already Risen: It was announced today by the head of Warner Brothers after Nolan and Bale's run with the caped crusader ends with "The Dark Knight Rises," Nolan will continue to produce the franchise. I'll go on record and say I'd rather have a new director/producer come in and put his vision on the screen. With Nolan producing, that means his vision will probably remain intact  (source)

Justice League: While I'm always been more of an Avengers (2012 son!) fan, there are many people who are fans of the DC super hero Globetrotters.  If you don't know what the Justice League is, check out the photo above. Anyway, there is going to be a Justice League movie in 2013. (source)

Green Lantern: Trailers for "Thor," "X-Men-First Class," and "Captain America" are burning up the internets and theaters but little has been heard about my Dad's favorite super-hero - "Green Lantern." The reason? The special effects in the film, particularly the 3D ones are taking longer to process and delaying the release of the new trailer and the start of the marketing campaign. Don't worry lanterns, you'll be out of the darkest day soon (Source)

Superman: Say what you will about a Brit being cast as Superman, but the supporting cast being put together for this film is looking good. Kevin Costner & Diane Lane play Superman's earthly parents, Michael Shannon is rumored  for the villain, and now Amy Adams is confirmed for Lois Lane. Whether she is singing to birds in "Enchanted" or laying down a Lowell smack down in"The Fighter," I think she's a great fit for the part.

I could hit you with some Marvel news, but I'll wait until something really juicy comes up, in the mean time keep your eyes peeled for the TPG signal in the sky. First person gets a ticket for the TPG500 in the TPG racing league!

SLAM! BAM! POW! Comic Book Movie Update

Over the past two weeks, there has been flurry of news about upcoming comic book adaptations. Considering that I'm sitting here in my HQ monitoring every thing on my sweet monitors that Lucius Fox set up, I figured I'd put everything in one place for you

Zack Snyder To Direct Superman

The Man of Steel is coming back to the big screen, hopefully as a heroic badass, not the whiny emo pansy that he was in "Superman Returns." Batman mastermind Christopher Nolan is producing and this week it was announced that Zack Snyder will direct. Audiences know Snyder as the director of "300" and "Watchmen." Reports indicate the script is pretty much the exact same as "Batman Begins" with Clark Kent traveling the planet figuring out his self worth and then returning to Metropols to regulate on everyone now that he knows he literally is the boss of all bosses.
Should You Be Excited?
Apprehensively yes, Snyder may not be the best storyteller, but his action sequences deliver, so if anything this film will be entertaining. Nolan should keep other story problems in check too.
Darren Aronofsky Might Direct Wolverine 2

"X-Men Origins Wolverine" is one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen in my life. Nevertheless it was a hit and FOX is serious about making the sequel succeed where the original failed (which was everywhere). Apparently acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky, who people are loving right now because of "Black Swan," is the frontrunner for the directing job.

Should You Be Excited
Yes! Aronofsky known for his films "The Wrestler," "Pi," and "The Fountain" (which starred Jackman) is visual director who will bring some serious merit to this franchise. The script will also take Wolverine to Japan, so let me translate that

Aronofsky (very cool director) + Wolverine + Ninjas = SIGN ME UP GUY

Christian Bale is Bulking Up For Batman 3 Which Will Shoot in New Orleans in April

Last week Nolan confirmed that he  is definitely directing Batman 3 and now more news that Bale is bulking up (he was dayum skinny in "The Fighter" (trailer here)). Other news reporting the film is getting ready to shoot in New Orleans. This is notable news because soon we will start getting the casting announcements that people crave like a need for order in Gotham City.
Should You Be Excited
Excited? I already bought my tickets for the midnight show!

David E. Kelley Is Developing A Wonder Woman TV Show
David E. Kelley made a name for himself with the TV Shows "Ally McBeal" and "LA Law," so it's obvious he knows what he is doing with television shows. So I guess it bodes well that he is developing a new Wonder Woman series. I know little to nothing about Wonder Woman so that's pretty much all I can say
Should You Be Excited
Honestly? I have no idea if you should be or not? Does Wonder Woman excite you? If yes, than you're more money than an amazon at a weight lifting competition.

No Plans For Superman? Maybe DC Comic Doesn't Have Their Act Together

It appears like DC comics may have been smoking a little too much of that bomb ass Kyrptonite Chronic, because today Diane Nelson, head of DC entertainment revealed they have no plans for a new Superman movie. I recently wrote about DC might just be getting their act together, but it appears that I have been deceived. Or per chance, this decision to not forge forward with the man of steel is a good one. After all, he is a bit of a bore. Yet once again, I can't see how a well done Superman flick could suck. I'm thinking Neill Blomkamp should direct.

And while Superman won't be crying about lost love on the silver screen any time soon, I can but read into this announcement as a clue that the new Batman movie is closer than we expect. Ahhh, new Batman flick, now we're talking Dark Knight status.
